Myrtos beach is famed for its crystal clear blue water and white sand. Ιt is rated in the top ten beaches of Europe  and in the World. Assos is one of the most beautiful and picturesque villages of Kefalonia. It is built amphitheatrically around the peninsula with steep slopes crossed by a narrow strip of land where the Venetian castle stands, another thing that makes this area famous. There is a small beach at the centre of the village making the area look more like a lake because of its geographic nature. The water is shallow and the bottom is paved with large pebbles. In the village you can find a variety of shops and taverns also you will notice that the houses are built with traditional architecture and are covered with bougainvilleas filling the place with a heady aroma. Fiskardo is a picturesque village in the northern part of Kefalonia. It links the island, by boat to Lefkas, Ithaca and Astakos. Fiskardo is the only village that remained virtually intact after the earthquake of 1953 and so it has kept the traditional architecture of the island. The area was declared a historical site and preserved as such giving the impression that time has stopped. It is one of the most cosmopolitan parts of the island with celebrities both Greek and foreign visiting the area. The large marina accommodates many boats and Yachts. Agia Efimia is located on the eastern side of the island exactly opposite Ithaca. Melissani cave is located close to the town of Sami, about 20km from Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia. It is without a doubt one of the most significant places for tourists to visit in Kefalonia. Surprisingly there is a lake inside the cave that has trees and forests surrounding it. The sight is simply magical. The cave itself has the shape of a B with 2 chambers separated with an island in the middle. The roof of one of the chambers has caved in centuries ago letting the sunlight shine into the lake and making it a breath-taking sight. When the sun is right above at noon, the sunlight hitting the turquoise-blue waters create a magical illusion and the whole cave of Melissani suddenly fills with blue light. At noon is the best time to visit the cave and enjoy a relaxing boat-ride with a traditional boat at the lake. The cave of Melissani is 36m high, 40m wide and 3.5m long. A balcony was built on top of the cave for tourists to get a spectacular view of the inside from the top. The lake has a depth of 20 to 30m. There is also stalactites and stalagmites in the cave that enhance its beauty. The cave of Melissani leaves a memorable and lasting impression to everyone who visits it.
Drogarati Cave, which is close to Sami, was discovered 300 years ago, when a part of it was destroyed because of a strong earthquake, and so the entrance was created.
The cave's depth is 60m. from the ground level and it is open for the public since 1963.
It's got many stalactites and stalagmites created from the rain. In the big hall of the cave (900m2), call "Sala of Apotheosis" because of its perfect acoustics, music and other shows are organized.

Ainos mountain is the highest mountain on Kefalonia and in all the Ionian islands, at an elevation of 1628m at its summit (around one mile above sea level). In comparative terms, it's higher than Ben Nevis in the UK (1344m) and just slightly higher than the city of Denver, Colorado, USA (1609m).
The views from the summit are worth the trek up. On a clear day the whole of Kefalonia, most of Ithaka and parts of Zakynthos, Meganissi and Levkas are visible, also Kyllini and the mainland coast.
Argostoli has been the capital of the island since 1757. It is amphitheatrically built around the Koutavos lagoon and is a relatively young town being almost totally rebuilt from scratch after the earthquake in 1953. The town has many tourist attractions and sights for the visitors, including museums, monuments and natural geological phenomena to name a few.

Poros is a picturesque village with 1,000 residents in the south eastern part of the island. An impressive landscape is what makes Poros different to the rest of the island, entering the village through the gorge created by the rocks, you will find a beautiful village surrounded by endless bays and a beach with turquoise waters stretching to the north of the village. Katelios is located at the southern part of Kefalonia. Village near Katelios are Valeriano, Hionata and Mavrata. It is a beautiful village which can be found by the visitor on the route from Argostoli to Skala. It is traditionally a fishing village, and in the past it was from here that transport of both goods and people to Zakynthos and the Greek mainland used to leave.The beautiful Katelios beach is one of the main attractions for tourists. In recent years the region has been developed making it more appeling place for tourists and with the construction of the marina is hoping to attract a different kind of tourism.

Skala is the southernmost village of Kefalonia and is one of the busiest tourist resorts. What makes this village so famous, apart from the many hotels and restaurants with fresh fish, is the beautiful long beach, which is estimated to be more than 5km in length. The beach is a combination of thick sand and pebbles and blue waters providing a good place for visitors to do water sports or simply enjoy the sea view. The road used to reach Poros, an equally beautiful and picturesque place, is full of beaches with curious rock formations that create a most beautifully scenic drive.
Svoronata village is located in the south coast of Kefalonia. Being 10 kilometers far from the capital of the island Argostoli, Svoronata gives guests easy access to explore the island. It is a peaceful resort with three beautiful beaches in walking distance, all with crystal clear waters.
